Wedding Theme Ideas to Consider

Choosing a theme for your wedding can often be difficult. Here are some ideas to get you thinking about which one is best for you.

Vintage

Going for a vintage themed wedding is becoming more popular. You have lots of different options when you do this because vintage covers a lot of different styles and ideas. Some people choose a Victorian-style vintage theme with antique furniture and lots of pastel colours filling the room. If you decide to do this, you should use these vintage wedding invites. They’ll fit the theme perfectly. You could take inspiration from a different period of time though. Why not create a 1960s theme for example?

Traditional

This is the theme that is most common, but that’s not a bad thing. It can often be the best option for a lot of people. If you can’t think of anything else or you don’t want to take any risks, the traditional option is always there to fall back on. It lends the wedding day some elegance and sophistication, as well as a big dose of romance. That’s why people choose to use time and time again when they get married. The white design is also very versatile, so you can add your own touches.

Disco

A disco theme is a classic choice and it’s pretty easy and cheap to throw together. If you love to dance and you enjoy disco tunes, it’s the ideal theme for you. All you need to do is get a few mirror balls and strobe lights to create the right atmosphere. Don’t forget a large dance floor too. Then you can compile a huge playlist of your favourite disco songs to dance to at the reception (or even walk down the aisle to).

Hollywood

Having a Hollywood theme for your wedding can mean a lot of different things. It could mean that you prioritise glitz and glamour, and you try to capture the Oscar night luxury of Hollywood. That doesn’t have to be the approach you take though. Some people take their favourite film or film genre and use that as the inspiration for their wedding’s theme. This has to be something that both you and your partner can agree on though. If one of you loves Star Wars and the other hates it, walking down the aisle dressed as Yoda probably won’t go down well.

Outdoors

For summer weddings, it’s good to get outside and have the whole day out there. If you have a good location and you are willing to sacrifice the church atmosphere, this is a great theme to choose. It allows you to get back to nature, but it has to be done in the summer. Unfortunately, you can never completely rely on the weather, so holding the wedding outside always means having to take a risk. You could hold the wedding abroad to minimise that risk though.

Whichever theme you choose for your wedding, make sure you make your decision well in advance. That way you’ll have time to refine it.
